The best Zoom backgrounds for work

1. Company logo backgrounds

When you need to make a lasting impression on your meeting attendees, nothing speaks more powerfully than a branded virtual background. Using your company logo as a background is especially useful if you’re having a shareholder’s meeting or a sales demo.

A branded virtual background jazzed with your company logo, colors, and images will reinforce your brand to the meeting attendees. It’s the perfect way to establish a work ambiance and show your brand value.

You can create this background using web-based design tools like Canva or a photo collage maker and include your logo, branded images, and brand colors to give it a professional feel.

2. Home interior backgrounds

If you are in a meeting that requires a semi-professional background, using home interior backgrounds can be an excellent way to set a warm work environment without losing the sense of professionalism.

But let’s be honest, none of our homes are spick and span like the royal palace or have an aesthetic beige wall. We don’t always have time to Marie Kondo our space.

So to save yourself from the embarrassment, using home backgrounds can very well do the trick. You could select from the stock photos offered by Zoom, or pick some from IKEA catalogs.

Feel free to go a little crazy — you don’t have to explain whether that’s really your house or not. 😉

3. Movie backgrounds

Work meetings don’t always need to be grim and serious. You can have fun while still fulfilling the meeting agenda.

One of the simplest ways you can draw some attention is by adding movie shots as your Zoom backgrounds. These backgrounds can be based on your favorite movie or something that’s recently been in trend.

This way, not only will it lighten the whole mood, but can act as an icebreaker when an attendee shares the same interest as you.

Here are some of my favorite movie backgrounds:

4. Holiday backgrounds

The best way to showcase your holiday spirit is with a special holiday background in your Zoom meetings. These holiday Zoom backgrounds are perfect for any occasion like Christmas parties or New Year’s Eve celebrations.

You can upload photos from your computer or phone, or use the Zoom photo gallery and select one of their pre-made backgrounds. You can choose from different types of holiday Zoom backgrounds for your meeting rooms such as Santa Claus, Christmas tree, snowflakes, etc.

Remember to use these backgrounds when the time is right, else it’ll kill the whole vibe. 😓

5. Celebratory backgrounds

Zoom meetings are great for team building, but they can be a little dry at times. If you want to add some fun and excitement to your next meeting, try using celebratory backgrounds.

Celebratory backgrounds are the perfect way to showcase your staff as well as their hard work and dedication to the company.

These backgrounds are perfect for any occasion, whether it’s an appraisal, a milestone, or any special anniversary.

Not only will it make the meetings more memorable, but the employees will also feel a sense of achievement and seeing that their efforts are appreciated, would be motivated to work even harder.

6. Inspirational backgrounds

It’s no secret that employees are some of the most valuable assets a business has. But how do you get them to work together and give their best?

The quick answer is by inspiring and motivating them.

Having an inspirational quote or background in your next meeting will help in setting the tone of the meeting.

It’ll also make your employees excited and pumped up. This can have a huge impact on their productivity and the quality of their work.

There are a lot of pre-made templates available for this online but you can also a personalized background with a quote(s) you like. Here’s one from Canva:

7. Office backgrounds

Hosting a remote meeting but still want to look professional?

Zoom office backgrounds are one of those few backgrounds for work that you can use for all kinds of meetings.

For instance, you can use it for not only regular office meetings, but also for job interviews, client meetings, and informal calls too. Regardless of the occasion, an office background will portray you as a professional.

You can either use your own office’s picture or pick one out of thousands of stock photos available online. Here are some to get you inspired:

8. Back-to-nature backgrounds

The colors and the shapes of the things around you can affect your mood, and this is especially true for visual presentations.

Greenery and plants are both shown to evoke a safe and calm emotion in the human mind. Having a floral and green background in your next meeting will help set a claiming work feel for all the staff.

Similarly, you can also include seasonal flowers to further loosen up the environment of the Zoom meetings.

9. Comedic/meme backgrounds

What better way to get rid of the stiffness in meetings than to boost some chuckles now and then.

People can get tense in the workplace so it’s important to keep things lighthearted from time to time.

Humour is a great way to break up the monotony of business presentations and you don’t have to be a comedian to make your office presentations more entertaining and casual.

Instead, try adding some trending memes or funny references as your next meeting background. Since most people use social media actively, they’ll instantly relate to it.

Everything is fine.

10. Minimalistic backgrounds

Well although it’s great to have a creative background, sometimes it can also become distracting for your employees.

And if you’re someone who likes to keep things simple, minimalistic backgrounds are perfect for you.

One of the main benefits of using minimalistic backgrounds is that they help you and your employees stay focused when presenting in front of large audiences. This allows them to focus without having their attention diverted from their task at hand by other objects or people.

A full white background is seen to be the best choice, but don’t let that stop you from picking up your favorite color and gradients.

13. Game backgrounds

Animal Crossing was the most popular game during the lockdown. Because everyone was stuck at home, we wanted to get a sense of the outside world and Animal Crossing was a good place to start.

Because of how relaxing the game was, it also kind of helped detach us from reality for a little bit, which was nice.
